HAHNDORF BAND FESTIVAL 2013

The 2013  annual Hahndorf Band Festival was held on Saturday, 11th May at the St Michael's Worship Centre.

4 Brass Bands and 1 Concert Band entered the festival and included Hahndorf Town Band (C ), Glenelg City Band (D), Mitcham City Brass (C ), K & N Spring Gully Brass (A), and Unley Concert Band.

The event got underway, with a street march down Balhannah Road at 10.00 AM, followed by a Drill Inspection at 11.00 AM.

The On-Stage Entertainment program commenced at 12.00 noon, where bands elected to perform a theme of some sort for their 20-30 minute presentation. Hahndorf Town Band chose a dance theme and had members of the band out front encouraging audience participation.

K & N Spring Gully Brass, chose Movies and Television Shows, and so it went on.

The competition was handicapped for scoring purposes, with D Grade bands benefiting from 15 points and C Grade benefiting from a 10 point handicap advantage.

In the final analysis, the 2 A Grade bands, Unley Concert Band and K & N Spring Gully Brass, simply had too much class and outshone the other competing bands.

Music Adjudicator for the day was Grant Sheridan of Adelaide. The final scoring results for the festival were:
